Father Scott Hammond - Assisting Priest

Scott Hammond felt God’s call on his life at the age of 17 in 1976, and from 1976 to 1985 he served in various roles in churches around the Atlanta area. In 1983 Scott earned his B.A. from Mercer University in Atlanta. While overseas Scott became intrigued by the varieties of Christian worship he observed in various Christian communities. Back in America, he discovered the Convergence movement, which seeks to reunite the three historic streams of Christian worship: Evangelical, Sacramental and Charismatic. Scott joined Light of Christ in December 2006, where he has worked with youth and taught the basics of deliverance ministry and operating ever deeper in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He was received as a deacon by the Anglican Diocese of Bolivia in September of 2007 and ordained a priest in October of 2009. Ginger Kilgore Hammond is Scott’s wife of 27 years, and they have two sons, Miles, 15, and Kirk, 13. They live in Smyrna.

Praise & Worship Ministry
A key element of church services is the music!
The Light of Christ Praise Team, led by long-time Worship Leader Don Markham, most ably assisted by his wife, Linda, helps lead the congregation into a place of worship through the wonderful experience of joining in song and praise to our God. Sound is coordinated by Brian Thoms. Music is of a contemporary nature with some traditional hymns.
People often experience the spiritual aspect of worship much more profoundly when listening to and singing along with praise music. Praise team members are certainly not exempt from the experience of being drawn into the presence of God while playing and singing.
Other aspects of the worship include special music, drama, ministry of the flags and shofar blowing.
LOC Praise Team welcomes all who wish to be a part of this important and very gratifying ministry. Practices are held each Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at our church location (see home page for map and directions).
You are invited to visit and join us at any time. Come help us Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord!
Please call Linda Markham at 770.424.3249 with any questions or just stop and see us after our church service.
 We welcome YOU!
