Merry Christmas Light of Christ! May the Spirit of Almighty God continue to lead and guide you on your journey. Remember that you are more than conquerors and can do all things in Christ who comforts and guides you. Finally, remember that Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7 KJV)

with all my love,

I am a Deacon in the Diocese of the Great Lakes under RT. Rev. Roger Ames and work closely with St. Michael the Archangel Church in Indiana under Fr. Tom Tirman. We spend our winters in Costa Rica and spread the Word as best we can. Knowing that Bsp. Frank Lyons is/was from that part of the world, or further south is how I came across your web site.

Blessings

I was born and raised in the Episcopal Church and my mother's family has been Anglican/Episcopal since the time of Henry the VIII.  I had a dramatic encounter with God that changed my life and was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at the age of 27.  For several years, I attended a non-denominational church but returned to the Episcopal Church to please my family and also because I was really "homesick" and felt called to let other Episcopalians know that God could be experienced in a very real, personal and profound way that I never knew existed until I experienced it.  I did meet other sincere, Bible-believing, Spirit-filled Episcopalians along the way, but as a whole, I saw the Episcopal Church growing more and more apostate over time.  It got to a point where I could no longer be a part of the Episcopal Church with a clear conscience so I left in 2002 and began attending mostly non-denominational churches.

When I re-married, my new husband had attanded a non-denominational church called The Vineyard for most of his adult life and his father had been a Church of God pastor so his church background was very different from mine.  He went to a few Episcopal church services with me, but really felt out of place and uncomfortable.  The only Anglican church he really liked was when we visited part of my family on Pauley's Island, SC, and went to All Saints Waccamaw which is a Spirit-filled independant Anglican church.  Since we have been together, we have tried to find a church in Marietta that we both feel comfortable with but it has been difficult.  We have been going to Mt. Paran Central which is a wonderful church; however, it is so large that it is difficult to get to know anyone or really feel a part of what is going on there. I feel more like I'm attending a spirited lecture that begins with a group singalong than attending church although my husband doesn't understand why I feel that way.

I was searching for a Sunday evening church service in Marietta and somehow, your chuch came up first in the search results, although I can't find any Sunday evening services listed on your website.  I clicked on the link and began browsing through your webpages and from what I can tell, it looks like your church is a spirit-filled Anglican congregation that is open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and recognizes the authority of the Scriptures.  If so, I believe you may be an answer to our prayers!   My husband and I both want to find a church where people are passionate about Jesus and excited about what God is doing for them and others.  It is important to us that the authority of the Bible is believed and taught and that the priest or pastor is open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and not so bound by human tradtion that the Spirit cannot lead in other directions when He desires to do so.  To have all that in an Anglican setting would be a dream come true for me.  Please let me know if I have found such a place or whether I misinterpreted what I read on your site.  Thank you and may God richly bless you!

A response to Margaret Clements:

Hello. I'm Father Scott Hammond of Light of Christ Anglican Church.  I saw in our online guestbook that you wrote that you'd like to be a part of our church, but your work schedule prevents you from attending on Sunday mornings.

An alternative for you might be to start coming to one of our Home Groups.  These are bible studies hosted by members at their homes.  There's one meeting each Monday evening, another meeting each Tuesday evening, and a third which meets every other Thursday.  If you'll look at the LOCAC home page, there's a list of the home groups and contact information.  They're located as far south as Vinings/Smyrna, all the way up to Kennesaw, so hopefully one of them will be convenient for you, although you don't have to go to the nearest one.  I live in Smyrna but attend the home group in Kennesaw.  I can tell you for sure that any of the hosts would be thrilled to hear from you and the group you choose would be happy to welcome you.  I've been a Christian my entire adult life, and ours is one of the friendliest churches I've ever seen, in any denomination.

Another activity we have is the Glory Night, usually scheduled on the first Saturday evening of each month at 6:30.  It's not so much a church service as a time of praise and worship, and an opportunity to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in a powerful way.  There might be spiritual teaching, prophecy, healing...the whole purpose is to invite the Holy Spirit to what He wants, no matter how unexpected.  Our next Glory Night will be on the 6th of November.

I hope you'll consider the alternatives I've mentioned.  If there's any other information I can give you, or anything else I can do for you, please let me know.  I'm looking forward to meeting you face to face in the near future.

God bless,
Scott Hammond+

I would like to join LOCAC but I am unable to attend Sunday Services due to my work schedule. Is there an other way I can be a part of the church?

Thank you.
